Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) has launched procedures to pull out and suspend trading Trifecta GT valve. In a statement on Thursday, JFDA Director General, Nizar Mheidat, said the administration informed Jordan’s concerned authorities in this regard, after it received an alert from the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN). The step, he noted, was taken in conjunction with the manufacturer’s decision in this regard and United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s warning of potential complications on the patient’s health. During their inspection tours, Mheidat noted JFDA’s monitoring and inspection teams, in coordination with managers of medical supplies stores, implemented procedures to remove remaining inventory from the field and stop selling and distributing Trifecta GT valves. These measures come as a continuation of JFDA’s keenness to take the “maximum” control and preventive measures to ensure that medical supplies in Jordan’s market meet the “highest” technical specifications and standards of safety and effectiveness, according to a JFDA statement.
