JENIN: Israeli occupation forces Wednesday evening killed a Palestinian woman and injured four other Palestinians in the Anza village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
The PRCS said that its paramedics provided evacuated a woman who was killed by Israeli army gunfire in the village.
The fatality was identified as Zhour Qassem ‘Amur, 37.
The PRCS added that its paramedics provided first aid treatment to four casualties, namely a young man, a girl child and two women, all of whom were injured by Israeli army gunfire in the village.
One of the casualties was identified as a 73-year-old elderly woman who sustained critical injuries in the head after being targeted in the head by a live round shot by the occupation forces who conducted a raid that resulted in the detention of a young man from the village.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for ‘wanted’ Pal
estinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
