Israeli forces expand military restrictions, measures in the West Bank

RANALLAH: The Israeli occupation forces tightened their military measures on Monday at most of the entrances to several governorates in the West Bank.

Local sources reported that the occupation tightened its measures around Ramallah and Al-Bireh, as the occupation closed the Atara checkpoint, and continued to close the northern entrance to the city of Al-Bireh, and the Nabi Saleh Gate.

The Israeli occupation forces closed all military checkpoints leading to the occupied city of Jerusalem and the 1948 territories, meanwhile the vicinity of the city of Jerusalem witnessed a traffic jam.

The occupation forces also set up several military checkpoints at the entrances to Hebron and its towns, villages and camps, and closed a number of main and secondary roads with iron gates, cement cubes and earthen mounds.

The Israeli occupation forces also closed the Tayasir and Al-Hamra checkpoints leading to the Jordan Valley, in both directions, on Monday morning.

The Israeli occupation authorities continued to tighten
their siege on the city of Nablus by closing a number of military checkpoints and tightening measures at other checkpoints around the city.

Local sources added that the occupation forces shut off several checkpoints completely this morning, while tightening inspection and restrictions on other checkpoints, deepening the siege imposed on the West Bank governorates, separating the north from the south.
