RAMALLAH: Israeli occupation forces detained 25 Palestinians, including freed prisoners, from across the occupied West Bank since Wednesday night through Thursday morning, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.
The prisoners’ institutions said in a joint statement that the detentions, which were carried out across the northern West Bank governorates, were accompanied by attacks on detainees and their families, in addition to widespread vandalism and destruction of citizens’ homes.
The statement noted that the occupation forces detained more than 10,300 citizens in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the start of the ongoing Israeli genocide and mass aggression against the Palestinian people on October 7, 2023.
PPS and the Commission said the detention campaigns represent one of the most consistent and systematic policies used by the occupation forces. They are also one of the most prominent tools of the occupation’s policy of collective
punishment, which is a central method employed by the occupation to target Palestinians, stressed the statement.
