Israeli forces destroy infrastructure, entrance to Tulkarm-area refugee camp during ongoing assault

TULKARM: Israeli occupation bulldozers Thursday destroyed the infrastructure of the entrance to Nour Shams camp, coinciding with the ongoing aggression on the city and camp of Tulkarm for the third consecutive day.

WAFA correspondent reported that two heavy occupation bulldozers, accompanied by a number of military vehicles, stormed the entrance square of the camp and Manshiya neighborhood and began to bulldoze the infrastructure, extending along the adjacent Nablus Street.

She added the occupation forces also caused damages to the communication and internet networks, which caused an outage in internet services in the entire camp.

The occupation forces raided Al-Sahaba Mosque near Nour Shams camp, and detained a number of citizens who were inside.

The director of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society office in Tulkarm, Ibrahim Al-Nimr, told WAFA that the occupation detained a number of citizens.

Additionally, the occupation forces continue their storming and siege of Tulkarm camp, deploying their military v
ehicles at its southeastern and northern entrances, while blowing up a number of houses there, the latest of which was a house in the Qaqun neighborhood this morning.

The head of the Popular Committee for Tulkarm Camp Services, Faisal Salama, said that the occupation continues its attacks on the camp and its residents, raiding homes and forcing their owners to leave them, blowing up a number of them and burning them.

He added that the occupation forces have blown up 10 homes in the past two days, in addition to the great and comprehensive destruction it has caused to the infrastructure and citizens’ property, leaving the camp in a catastrophic state and an extremely difficult humanitarian situation due to the water outage, amid appeals from citizens to deliver drinking water to the besieged homes, noting that the occupation has prevented the entry of humanitarian aid into the camp, which exacerbates the humanitarian and psychological situation there.

Local sources said that the occupation forces prevented
ambulance crews from entering the camp and transporting sick and dead cases to the hospital despite prior coordination through the International Committee of the Red Cross.

She added that the occupation soldiers continue to storm homes, abuse their residents, detain a number of them, and force others to leave the camp, in addition to using the elderly as human shields, putting their lives at risk.

The occupation forces continue besieging Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarm, obstructing the work of medical staff, and interrogating patients entering and leaving the hospital.

The occupation forces also detained a youth after raiding his home in the town of Faroun, south of Tulkarm.
