Israeli occupation authorities today demolished two rooms built on the roof of a building in At-Tur neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem, said WAFA correspondent. Large Israeli police forces stormed the neighborhood of At-Tur, cordoned off the house, and forced Palestinian residents away before tearing down two rooms erected on the roof of a residential building citing unpermitted construction as a pretext. In the meantime, a large Israeli force, accompanied by bulldozers, raided Shufaat refugee camp to the northeast of Jerusalem and knocked down a wall there. Although Palestinians in East Jerusalem, a part of the internationally recognized Palestinian Territory that has been subject to Israeli military occupation since 1967, they are denied their citizenship rights and are instead classified only as “residents” whose permits can be revoked if they move away from the city for more than a few years.
