Israeli authorities begin construction of settler road in northern Jordan Valley

JORDAN VALLEY: Israeli occupation authorities commenced today the construction of a new settler-only road in the northern Jordan Valley today.

According to human rights activist Aref Daraghmeh, the road is being built southeast of the village of Kardala and is expected to extend towards the outskirts of the village of Ibziq. This construction affects large areas of land, some of which are privately owned by local citizens, while others consist of mountainous grazing lands.

Mahdi Daraghmeh, head of the village council in the Al-Malih in the region, reported that colonists also began improving the road leading to a new settlement outpost in the Um al-Jamal area. This development follows the forced displacement of local Palestinian residents from the area approximately two months ago.

The northern Jordan Valley has seen a surge in settler activities recently, accompanied by an increase in daily attacks on local residents. These assaults include incursions into communities, raids on tents, intimidation, threat
s, and the confiscation of property and livestock.
