He stressed that “our statement to all the world and its institutions, and to the Security Council in particular, is clear: Stop the barbaric aggression on Gaza, stop the violation of the rights of the Palestinian people and the war crimes against them, stop Israel’s violations of international law, and oblige it to respect it so that the escalation, which will inevitably return to threaten the security of the region, will decrease unless the occupation is removed, the injustice is lifted, and the oppression ends.”

On the sidelines of the meeting, Safadi met with Algerian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Attaf, on efforts to de-escalate the dangerous escalation in the region and ways to develop bilateral relations.

The foreign minister also met with Iranian counterpart, Ali Bagheri Kani, and followed up on the talks they had held during Safadi’s visit to Tehran at Kani’s invitation on Sunday.

In another meeting on the sidelines of the OIC meeting, Safadi and Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar discussed the region
al situation and ways to develop bilateral relations.

Safadi also met with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Waleed Elkhereiji, who is heading his country’s delegation to the OIC emergency meeting, and discussed the regional situation and relations between the two kingdoms.
