Amman: Safadi warned that the escalation will worsen “to the point of exploding into an all-out war if the world does not act immediately to protect the region from the crude vindictiveness and racist eliminationist ideology of the Israeli prime minister and the extremist ministers in his government, some of whom have gone as far as justifying the killing of Palestinians by starvation, and who deny the Palestinians their humanity, dignity, and their right to life and freedom, and wreak havoc on the land by killing, destroying, and violating all human values.”
Safadi emphasized that “none of us want an escalation whose repercussions will be nothing but destruction that will not solve the conflict but will exacerbate its woes, and our position today must be clear, explicit and direct: The road to de-escalation begins with stopping the aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites, the protection of which will remain the priority of its c
ustodian, His Majesty King Abdullah.”
“The first step towards de-escalation must be followed by immediate steps to end the Israeli occupation, the basis of the conflict and all evil, and to materialize an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with occupied Jerusalem as its eternal capital, as the only way to meet the right of our region and its peoples to security, peace and stability,” he said.
.
“The world must hear from us today a clear position that rejects Israel’s violations of international law, international humanitarian law and the sovereignty of states,” Safadi underlined.
