Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hany Suwielam said his ministry pays attention to a number of important issues including water desalination for heavy production of food, training workers of the ministry in the field of water treatment and studying the sites and perfect techniques to apply aquifer recharge via scientific and precise plans.
During the minister’s participation in the activities of a workshop under the rubric ‘artificial recharge of aquifers’ in presence of water resources adviser of Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi in the UAE Mohamed Dawood and a number of ministry officials, he pointed out to the importance of the workshop within the framework of permanent keenness on benefiting from the Egyptian cadres working abroad.
The workshop tackled the latest techniques available in the field of aquifers recharge and reviewed a number of models applied in a number of countries around the world in this field.
The workshop comes within the framework of getting acquainted with successful exper
iments in other countries in the field of water management especially the groundwater, he said.
The minister directed to form a work group including a number of cadres specialized in the field of groundwater in the ministry.
