Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Hani Sewilam met with Head of the Palestinian Water Authority Engineer Mazen Ghoneim and the accompanying delegation. Dr.Hani Sweilem stressed that his ministry is keen to provide the Palestinians with all forms of water-related support urgently in coordination with the Egyptian ministries.

Dr. Sweilem welcomed Engineer Ghoneim, praising the historical relations between the Egyptian and Palestinian peoples, noting his constant monitoring of what the brothers in the occupied Palestinian territories are exposed to as a result of the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. The minister said that the developments in the Gaza Strip represent a serious threat to the humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, and also raise a lot of concern regarding providing the water needs of the besieged population in the Gaza Strip, which is considered a humanitarian service guaranteed by international and humanitarian law.

The minister noted that the consequences of the Israeli agg
ression on the occupied Palestinian territories, which has claimed the lives of 27,000 martyrs and 66,000 injured so far, the deterioration of humanitarian conditions and the loss of the basic needs of life such as water, food, and electricity make this number likely to increase significantly.
