Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hani Sweilam had talks on Monday with Director-General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) Yerlan Baidaulet and Director of the organization’s programs and project office Ismail AbdelHamid.
The talks tackled means of promoting cooperation to deal with the negative impact of climate change and coordinating water activities within the framework of preparations for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27).
The talks tackled scientific and research cooperation mechanisms between the two sides as well as coordination in the field of applied researches serving the water sector.
During the meeting, Sweilam reviewed the great potentials of the ministry’s regional training center, noting that the organization can benefit from the center’s expertise in organizing training sessions for Arab and African trainees.
The talks also touched on preparations for the fifth Cairo Water Week.
