Irrigation min. discusses status of mega projects with senior ministry officials

Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati has discussed with a number of senior officials the status of a number of mega projects being carried out by the ministry.

 

The move came during a meeting held by the minister with undersecretary of the irrigation ministry Ragab Abdel Azim, head of the irrigation department El Sayed Shalaby, head of the horizontal expansion and projects sector Fathy Radwan, assistant minister for mega projects Mohamed Omar Makram, and resident engineers at the projects to develop South Valley, North Sinai and West Delta.

 

The minister said the total amount of water treated at Bahr el Baqar, El Hammam and El Mahsama plants is estimated at 15 million cubic meters per day.

 

He added that a project is underway for taking agricultural drainage water in the West Delta to El Hammam water treatment plant, noting that the implementation rate is currently 17 percent.
