Ankara: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el-Khatib departed Cairo on Monday to attend the 40th session of the Council of Trade Ministers of the Standing Committee for Commercial and Economic Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Turkey. The meetings are aimed at fostering economic collaboration and trade between Egypt and Turkey.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the visit includes extensive discussions with senior officials, businessmen, and representatives from business associations and companies in Turkey. These interactions aim to enhance trade and investment relations between the two nations by introducing the Turkish business community to lucrative investment opportunities in Egypt. Additionally, the meetings will focus on the Egyptian government’s current measures and procedures related to financial, monetary, and trade domains to facilitate investment and the export-import system.
The Minister’s agenda also includes meetings with Omar Pol
at, Turkish Minister of Trade, and trade ministers from other participating countries. On the sidelines of the main event, participants will engage in an expanded meeting with the chairman and members of the Turkish side of the joint business council.
Furthermore, Khatib will attend several meetings organized by the Egyptian Commercial Office in Turkey, engaging with Turkish business federations and large industrial companies, to explore avenues for increasing Turkish investments in the Egyptian market and boosting Egyptian-Turkish intra-trade rates.
