Investment Minister and Samsung Egypt CEO Discuss Expansion Plans


Cairo: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el Khatib held a meeting on Saturday with CEO of Samsung Egypt Wonkyong Kim to discuss the company’s projects and its plans to expand operations in the Egyptian market.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was attended by officials from both the Investment Ministry and Samsung. During the discussions, Khatib praised the ongoing progress of Samsung in the Egyptian market and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors in achieving sustainable development.



Khatib highlighted Samsung’s significant role in supporting the electronics sector in Egypt, noting the company’s contribution to job creation and local manufacturing. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining a favorable business climate by providing facilities and incentives for investors aiming to expand in Egypt.



The minister also mentioned Egypt’s goal of becoming a regional hub for technological industries, citing the country’s strategic geographical location and free trade agreements that offer access to multiple markets.



Wonkyong expressed appreciation for the Egyptian government’s support, highlighting Samsung’s plans to expand operations in Egypt and increase export rates to both regional and international markets.
