Investment Minister and French Ambassador in Cairo Explore Enhancing Economic Partnership


Cairo: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el-Khatib emphasized Egypt’s commitment to creating an inviting investment environment for French investors, focusing on developing the business sector and improving regulatory procedures to support foreign companies operating in Egypt. This commitment was highlighted during a meeting with French Ambassador to Cairo Éric Chevallier, where they discussed ways to boost Egyptian-French economic ties.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Khatib acknowledged the promising opportunities available in the Egyptian market, particularly in renewable energy, the technological industry, and infrastructure. He encouraged French companies to capitalize on these opportunities and expand their investments in Egypt. The minister noted the significant contributions of French companies in supporting the Egyptian economy, particularly in job creation and economic growth across various sectors.

Khatib emphasized the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in tech
nology transfer and localizing advanced industries. He stressed the government’s readiness to support initiatives that foster innovation and increase local production. Highlighting the strategic partnership between Egypt and France, Khatib underscored the government’s efforts to strengthen public and private sector partnerships in several major projects.

French Ambassador Éric Chevallier expressed appreciation for the strong relations between France and Egypt and praised the efforts to enhance economic and investment cooperation. Chevallier reiterated France’s commitment to supporting joint investments that promote sustainable development and mutual interests for both the French and Egyptian economies.
