Cairo: Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania el-Mashat expressed the ministry’s commitment to collaborating with the Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ). During the inauguration of the FAJ’s new premises, Mashat emphasized Egypt’s dedication to maintaining strong ties with its Arab counterparts.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the inauguration event was attended by notable figures including Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) Karam Gabr and FAJ Chairman Muayad al Lamy. Mashat highlighted Egypt’s role as a hub for various Arab organizations and federations, noting the significance of the FAJ within the community. She revealed that the new premises were formerly a part of the Ministry of International Cooperation’s facilities.
Additionally, Muayad al Lamy expressed gratitude towards Egypt for providing the FAJ with the new location, which serves 20 Arab countries. He underscored the importance of the FAJ’s presence in Egypt, given the
country’s influence across political, scientific, cultural, artistic, and literary domains. Karam Gabr also remarked on President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s commitment to supporting journalism and engaging with Arab journalists.
