International Cooperation Minister Rania Al Mashat launched on Tuesday 8/2/2022 the high-level national consultative meeting on preparing the strategic framework of the partnership with the United Nations for sustainable development from 2023 to 2027.
The meeting gathered Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati, Tourism Minister Khaled el Anany, Supply Minister Ali Moselhi, Education Minister Tarek Shawki, Local Development Minister Mahmoud Sharawi, Sports and Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhy, Social Solidarity Minister Nevine Al Qabbaj, Chairwoman of the National Council for Women, Chairwoman of the National Council for Human Rights, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Yehia Zaki, and other officials.
Mashat said the International Cooperation Ministry started in mid-2021 in cooperation with the UN team to outline specifications for the government’s program of “Misr Tantaleq” (Egypt kicks off), taking into consideration national strategies like the national strategy for human rights, family planning strategies, Egypt Vision 2030, and the presidential initiatives.
Mashat pointed out that the coming period will witness implementing a number of stages before reaching the final version of the strategic framework for partnership with the UN.
The minister also gave a presentation about the axes set to be accomplished this year in cooperation with the related executive bodies and UN agencies.
According to her, the strategic framework aims to foster investment in human capital, enhance inclusive social justice, improve the quality of services, integrate the informal economy and enhance productivity, improve the efficiency of natural resource management and bolster environmental sustainability to address climate change.
It also targets inclusive empowerment of women and girls at the political, social, and economic levels.
