Cairo: Egypt’s Minister of Interior, Mahmoud Tawfiq, has extended Christmas greetings to prominent leaders of the Christian community in Egypt, underscoring the nation’s unity and cohesion. On Sunday, Tawfiq sent a congratulatory message to Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, marking the festive occasion.
According to State Information Service Egypt, in his message, Minister Tawfiq conveyed his sincere greetings to Pope Tawadros II, recognizing the event as a symbol of the enduring solidarity and unity within the Egyptian social fabric. He emphasized the spirit of coherence that characterizes the nation’s diverse communities.
In addition to his message to Pope Tawadros II, Tawfiq extended similar greetings to other key figures within Egypt’s Christian denominations. These included Anba Ibrahim Ishak, head of the Coptic Catholic Church, and Andrea Zaki, head of the Evangelical Denomination in Egypt. Tawfiq’s outreach reflects an inclusive approach to the festive season, embracing various Christian traditions within the country.
Moreover, Minister Tawfiq did not overlook the contributions of Christian officers and staff within the Interior Ministry, offering them his best wishes during this celebratory time.
