Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq performed Friday prayers at Police Mosque in New Cairo within celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of Police Day.
Among those who also attended Friday prayers were Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, Egypt’s Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, along with a host of police and armed forces officers.
Gomaa delivered the sermon, during which he underlined the need of preserving the country’s security.
He recalled the bravery of the Egyptian police and armed forces and how they sacrificed dearly for the sake of homeland.
