Cairo: Deputy Premier and Industry and Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir said his ministry has prepared an urgent plan to upgrade the industrial sector in six years. The plan, to be in place till 2023, aims at shoring up the green economy. Kamel El-Wazir stressed that the industrial sector is one of the files that the Egyptian state pays great attention to in light of the international and regional changes that the world is going through.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasize working immediately to remove all challenges facing the various industrial sectors. The plan focuses on localizing and encouraging local industry in partnership with the private sector. Furthermore, it aims to attract more foreign and Arab investments, within the framework of transforming Egypt into a regional industrial center.
