The general index of industrial production quantities from the start of 2024 until the end of July reached 86.87 points, marking a slight decrease of 0.04% compared to 86.91 points for the same period in 2023.
According to the Department of Statistics’ monthly report released on Wednesday, the manufacturing sector saw a 0.84% drop in production during this period. However, production in the extractive industries sector rose by 7.82%, and electricity production increased by 5.63%.
For July alone, the industrial production index climbed by 0.63%, reaching 90.84 points, compared to 90.27 points in July 2023. Within sectors, manufacturing production rose by 0.23%, extractive industries surged by 11.25%, while electricity production fell by 2.38%.
On a monthly basis, the index for July 2024 rose by 1.29% compared to June, due to a 1.58% increase in manufacturing, a slight 0.02% rise in extractive industries, and a 1.95% decrease in electricity production.
