The General Index Of Industrial Producers’ Prices declined by 0.42 percent from the beginning of the year until the end of July, reaching 107.38 points compared to 107.83 points during the same period in 2023.
A report from the Department of Statistics released on Sunday attributed this decrease to a 0.55 percent drop in manufacturing industry prices and a 3.94 percent reduction in extractive industry prices. In contrast, electricity prices rose by 4.82 percent.
In July alone, the general index increased by 1.93 percent, reaching 107.64 points compared to 105.6 points in July 2023. Manufacturing industry prices rose by 2.04 percent, electricity prices surged by 5.77 percent, while extractive industry prices fell by 3.85 percent.
The report also highlighted a 0.55 percent rise in the industrial producer price index for July, reaching 107.64 points, up from 107.05 points in the same month in 2023.
