India and Egypt Reaffirm Strategic Partnership During Foreign Office Consultations.


Cairo: India and Egypt conducted the 13th round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in New Delhi on 5 December 2024. The meeting was co-chaired by Shri Arun Kumar Chatterjee, Secretary (CPV and OIA) from India, and Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs from Egypt.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions focused on reviewing the comprehensive bilateral relations between India and Egypt, with a shared commitment to enhancing the Strategic Partnership. Both sides explored potential avenues for deepening cooperation in political, economic, and socio-cultural realms. Additionally, they exchanged views on significant regional and global matters of mutual interest.

India and Egypt have longstanding and cordial relations, rooted in historical and civilizational connections. The two nations also collaborate in various multilateral platforms. The talks held aim to further solidify the India-Egypt bilateral relationship.

Both countries consented to convene the
next round of FOC in Egypt at a mutually agreed upon date.
