The Education Minister of Jordan, Azmi Muhafaza, said Tuesday one of the Education Ministry’s priorities in the next phase is to increase the enrollment of students in vocational education. This came during the annual review of the joint strategic plan for education for 2022 with stakeholders and partners on the progress in its implementation. Muhafaza added that the Ministry introduced reforms in the vocational education track by not linking it to low-performance academic achievement, creating new specialisations consistent with the change in the labour market requirements and increasing the number of specialised vocational schools. He added that the Ministry overcame challenges to the strategic plan, especially in light of the desire to achieve the royal visions represented in modernising the public sector and the vision of economic modernisation.
