Immigration min. probes with Sierra Leone new amb. boosting cooperation

Minister of Immigration Soha Gendi met Sunday with the newly appointed Egyptian ambassador to Sierra Leone Sherif Refaat to disuss means of cooperation in various files.

The meeting comes as part of the sustainable and continuous cooperation and coordination among the ministries and agencies, especially between the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, to meet the needs of the Egyptian expats abroad.

Gendi highlighted the Immigration Ministry’s Africa-focused initiatives, including “Egypt’s voice in Africa”, which is interested in honoring the Egyptians, who have successful contributions in the African countries, as well as “Egypt is the beginning of the road” initiative, which honor the Arab, African, and foreign prominent and influential figures, who studied and graduated from Egypt before assuming leading posts in their countries.

For his side, Refaat stressed his country’s readiness to continue the ongoing coordination, which serves the interests of the Egyptian nationals in Sierra Leone.
