The International Lebanese Medical Association (ILMA) announced that it is ‘the sole association that brings together all Lebanese doctors in the diaspora from more than 17 countries across five continents.’
It added that it brings together doctors from Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Belgium and other countries, revealing that it will hold its meeting in Lebanon this year at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut, on July 5 and 6, 2024.
‘The role of ILMA, in addition to bringing together Lebanese doctors in the diaspora, is to help Lebanon in its most difficult moments. This year, during its international meeting to be held on July 5 and 6 in Beirut, more than 50 medical students in Lebanese universities will be provided with scholarships,” the Association indicated.
It also referred to its assistance during the Covid pandemic and in the wake of the Beirut explosion on August 4, in providing millions of dollars in medical supplies and food support through cooperat
ion with the Lebanese Red Cross, Caritas, the Lebanese Army, the Ministry of Health, and many other non-profit organizations.
