Independent Election Commission (IEC) and Life Center – Rased on Wednesday launched the electoral “Participate Right” convoy, which comes as part of “2 Million Voters” campaign, held with the support of the European Union.
According to an IEC statement, the convoy aims to encourage citizens to participate “actively” on the next parliamentary elections and raise awareness levels about the Kingdom’s new Election Law.
The IEC Chairman, Musa Maaitah, said such initiatives enjoy “remarkable” importance, especially since theses activities will tour the Kingdom’s various governorates and will meet citizens in-person.
Maaitah also stressed the need for “right” participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections, which could produce outcomes that align with the Kingdom’s priorities and broadly reflect the citizens’ aspirations.
For her part, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Jordan, Angela Martini, offered support and encouragement to the young volunteers participating in the convoy, stressing the EU’s support
for Jordan’s efforts to achieve political modernization.
Meanwhile, Rased Director, Dr. Amer Bani Amer, said participants are enthusiastic to deliver the citizens’ messages about the importance of these upcoming parliamentary elections, indicating that the convoy will continue until a week ahead the election day and will tour the Kingdom’s regions.
