IDSC reviews scenarios to deal with global economic challenges

The Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) has organized its eighth workshop to outline an integrated research project meant to address global economic challenges in 2023 and 2024.

An expanded debate was held on Friday, in the presence of 20 representatives of the business community, research centers, academics, executives, ministries, the “Decent Life” presidential initiative, the UN World Food Program (WFP) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

The meeting was organized upon directives by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.

The meeting took up economic growth trends in developed and developing countries and global institutions’ expectations of recession paths resulting from raising interest rates and the consequences of the Ukrainian crisis.

It also reviewed the crises related to high inflation rates and global supply chains in light of the continued policies of central banks around the world to tighten monetary policy.

The session also reviewed the impact of global crises on sustainable development and the most prominent challenges and future paths to achieve the goals of sustainable development.

On February 2, the IDSC launched a series of workshops with the aim to bring together parties with different ideas and views about how to best confront the global economic challenges.
