RAMALLAH: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) called for the delivery of humanitarian support, including medical supplies, to the northern Gaza Strip.
The committee said in a press statement on Tuesday that hospitals, which are already under a heavy burden, are struggling to meet their increasing needs, stressing the need to respect and protect medical facilities.
More than 400,000 people remain trapped in northern Gaza for the 10th day, as the Israeli occupation forces continue their ground invasion of the Jabalia and Beit Lahia camps in the northern Gaza Strip, amidst a complete siege and starvation that prevents the entry of food, drink, medicine or fuel, under continuous bloody bombardment.
The ICRC stressed the need to provide protection for civilians in light of the evacuation orders in northern Gaza, and said: “Many cannot simply flee, some of them are sick or disabled, but these people remain protected under international and humanitarian law and all possible measures must be taken
to ensure that they are not harmed,” stressing that the right of every displaced person to return to their homes safely is a guaranteed right.
