SHARJAH: The Holy Quran Academy (HQA) hosted esteemed guests of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, participanting in the second edition of Sharjah International Conference on Arabic Language Studies in Europe (SICALSE). They explored the Academy’s pivotal role and mission, focusing on three main areas: Quranic studies and research, the global Sharjah e-Quran platform, and Quranic museums. These initiatives promote knowledge of the Quran, its sciences, and the preservation of the Arabic language, solidifying Sharjah’s cultural and civilizational stature.
The guests, 23 researchers and scholars from 13 European countries, were warmly received by Abdullah Khalaf Al Hosani, Secretary-General of the Academy, along with several department directors and heads.
Al Hosani emphasised the significance of such visits, stating they aim to showcase the Academy’s impactful scientific projects, highlighting its role in fostering knowledge, culture, and humanity while
promoting the Quran and its sciences. He expressed the desire to share the complex’s experiences and enhance collaboration with researchers, looking forward to benefiting from their insights in studies and research.
During the visit, Al Hosani guided the scholars through the Academy , providing detailed explanations about its priorities, including teaching and disseminating the Arabic language through projects like the Encyclopedia of Rhetorical Interpretation and specialised reading methods. The Quranic museums offered insights into the history of the written Quran, its rare manuscripts, and the science of readings.
The guests were impressed by this intellectual hub, recognising it as a significant cultural landmark within the global heritage of human knowledge.
