Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy Gebaly has warned of a fully-fledged crime and grave violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza with the aim to ethnically cleanse and forcibly displace Palestinians outside their land, thus terminating their just cause.

Addressing the 148th general assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Monday, Gebaly said the credibility of the global system is at stake, given its complete inability to end the longest occupation in modern history – the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands.

The world community bears full responsibility for such historical tragedy in the occupied Palestinian lands, he added.

Parliamentary diplomacy, with all its power, should play an effective role to create real and serious spaces for dialogue and to bring people closer, Gebaly urged.

The Egyptian state has spared no effort to boost co-existence and dialogue as the only means to promoting international peace, Gebaly noted.
