Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanfy Gebaly referred on Sunday 15/1/2023 seven presidential decrees approving a number of international agreements to specialized committees of parliament.
One such agreement was to amend a partnership deal between the Egyptian government and the French Development Agency (AFD) to support the teaching of French as a foreign language at government schools. The decree also approves an additional grant worth 500,000 euros to be allocated for the project.
Gebaly also referred to the specialized committee a presidential decree to amend an aid agreement between Cairo and Washington, which had been signed in the Egyptian capital on September 29, 2022.
Also referred to the specialized committees was a presidential decree, okaying an amendment to an aid grant through allocating an additional 13.050 million dollars to a project with the US meant to improve health outcomes of targeted groups.
The House also referred to the specialized committees an approved agreement between Egypt and the AFD to develop shantytowns through an additional grant worth 3 million euros.
An agreement between the Egyptian Ministry of Irrigation and the International Center for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM-Bari) in Italy was also referred to a specialized committee.
The House also referred to the specialized committees a grant deal between Egypt and the US on rural development.
Also referred to a number of specialized committees was an agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) and Credit Agricole CIB in South Korea to complete the financing of a venture to deliver 32 trains to be included in the third and fourth lines of the Greater Cairo metro.
