The House of Representatives approved finally during a session under Speaker Hanafi Gebali a draft law presented by the government on amending Law no. 26 of 2022 on developing the superstructure of the multi-purpose station at Damietta Port (Tahya Misr 1) container terminal and operating it.

The approval would lay the basis for the construction of the Damietta integrated logistics axis for multi transport container systems and increase the movement of exporting and importing goods at the port to reach 4 million containers annually.
