During a session chaired by Lower House Speaker, Ahmed Safadi, and in presence of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh and the Cabinet, deputies on Sunday approved amendments to 2023 Civil Procedure Code and Sharia Trial Procedures Law, as sent from the government. The first bill’s validating reasons came to streamline litigation procedures and complete court proceedings by expanding integration of modern e-technologies. Under amendments, lawsuit parties shouldn’t attend to courts in some judicial procedures. Meanwhile, the mandating reasons for Sharia Trial Procedures Law came to facilitate litigation procedures and complete proceedings without presence of the lawsuit parties to Jordan’s Sharia courts to spare time and shorten litigation period. The amended draft law also aims to enable Sharia courts to integrate modern technology in their activities.
