Higher education min. underlines depth of Egypt-UAE ties

Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Ayman Ashour stressed the depth of relations that unite Egypt and the UAE in the various spheres, especially in the scientific, cultural and educational fields.

The minister made the remarks during his meeting with the CEO of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) Gamal bin Huwaireb and in the presence of Head of Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector Ashraf el Azzazi, Chief Technical Advisor of the Knowledge Project at the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Hany Turki, Chief Executive Officer at Al Alfi Foundation for Human and Social Development Nermin Hassan Abu Jazia, Advisor to the Deputy Minister for Employment Ayman Farid.

During the meeting, the minister drew attention to the future strategy of the higher education and scientific research in Egypt.

Such strategy mainly focuses on honing the skills of youth in order to be qualified enough to enter the labor market, he added.

The minister, meanwhile, welcomed cooperation with the MBRF and Al Alfi Foundation for Human and Social Development, stressing the importance of preparing a distinguished generation able to cope with modern technologies in all walks of life.

Huwaireb, for his part, pointed out to the reforms ushered in the education and scientific research sector by the State.

He also invited the higher education minister to attend the proceedings of the Youth Knowledge Forum and the launch ceremony of the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) 2022 in next December.

In this regard, Ashour welcomed the invitation, pointing out to the tangible progress made by Egypt on the GKI.
