Higher Education Minister Ayman Ashour directed on Friday officials to constantly raise the degree of preparedness at the university hospitals in conjunction with the Christmas celebrations.

Ashour ordered increasing the number of doctors and medical teams at all hospitals.

According to Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the secretary of the Supreme Council for University Hospitals, the total number of university hospitals is 120, having 35,825 beds and 4,830 ICU beds.
