Higher education min., Cuban envoy discuss scientific, research cooperation

Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar conferred with Cuban Ambassador in Cairo Tania Aguiar Fernández on means to boost scientific and research cooperation between Egypt and Cuba.

Abdel Ghaffar asserted the depth of ties between Egypt and Cuba and Egypt’s interest in promoting scientific and research cooperation with Cuba, lauding the friendship relations between both countries.

He asserted that Egypt is looking forward to deepening ties with the Cuban side in the different domains especially the education and research fields.

The meeting tackled the possibility to prepare an agreement between the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and its Cuban counterpart in the fields of higher education and scientific research between the universities in addition to the upcoming visit of a number of Cuban researchers and experts to the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) in the coming period that aims at boosting cooperation in joint scientific research.

Meanwhile, Fernández asserted the Cuban keenness on strengthening frameworks of cooperation between Egypt and Cuba in the different domains especially higher education and scientific research.

She lauded the tangible development witnessed in the sector of higher education and scientific research in Egypt.

Fernández lauded the historic ties between Egypt and Cuba that witnessed tangible development during the era of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
