Minister of Education and Technical Education Reda Hegazy discussed on Monday with Vice-President of the European Union (EU) Commission Margaritis Schinas ways of boosting joint cooperation in the education and technical education fields.
Hegazy asserted the great interest of the political leadership in Egypt in upgrading education as a fundamental element of development.
The meeting is aiming to support the history-honored, profound relations between Egypt and the EU, he said.
The education ministry is paying a greater attention to overhauling the education system, he also said, adding real development in technical education is the cornerstone of any country’s progress.
In turn, Schinas said the EU appreciates efforts exerted by the Egyptian state in the education file, especially in improving the quality of education and technical education.
The EU is ready for offering further support to Egypt as part of efforts of fostering bilateral relations, he added.
Schinas pointed out that the EU considers Egypt as an important strategic partner and is interested in deepening cooperation with it in the domains of honing skills and improving its education system.
