Healthcare signs cooperation protocol with Abbott International

The General Healthcare Authority announced the signing of a bilateral cooperation protocol with Abbott International, during the activities of the Arab Health Exhibition and Conference 2024, which is being held at the Dubai World Trade Center in the United Arab Emirates from January 29 to February 1, 2024 under the slogan ‘Connecting minds and transforming the healthcare sector.’

The signing of the protocol was witnessed by Professor Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Ahmad Al-Sabki, President of the General Authority for Health Care and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, and Mr. Assem Shaftar, Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Department at Abbott International Company in The Middle East, Turkey and Africa, in addition to a number of leaders and directors of various departments in the General Authority for Healthcare and representatives of Abbott.

The protocol was signed by Dr. Ami
r Al-Talwani, Executive Director of the General Authority for Health Care, representing the Authority, and Dr. Muhammad Qandil, Regional Director of Abbott in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Africa.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, expressed the importance of signing the cooperation protocol between the Health Care Authority and Abbott International, praising the efforts of the Health Care Authority and its constant endeavors to deepen Arab and international cooperation in various fields of health care.

Dr. Ahmad Al-Sabki stressed the importance of cooperation with leading companies in the world to train health service providers and develop their skills in several advanced specialized medical fields and use the latest therapeutic technologies.

Dr. Ahmad Al-Sabki stressed the importance of cooperation with Abbott International in activating health economics programs to support decision-making in the Authority, its branches and health facilities, and to promote the adoption of value-based
and patient-centered health care concepts.

For his part, Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Department at Abbott International, expressed his satisfaction with the fruitful and lasting cooperation with the Health Care Authority, noting that the Health Care Authority has made a remarkable development in the health care sector in Egypt and strengthened its position in the Arab, regional and international markets.
