ISMAILIA: The General Authority for Healthcare in Egypt has announced that the 30th June International Centre for Kidney Diseases and Urology in Ismailia has successfully conducted 18 kidney transplants. This milestone follows the centre’s accreditation as the first facility in the Canal Region to receive a kidney transplant licence, adhering to the criteria set by the Supreme Committee for Organ Transplantation.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Healthcare Authority detailed the range of medical and therapeutic services offered at the centre since the introduction of the comprehensive health insurance system in the governorate. The centre has provided nearly one million medical services, including 10,500 surgical operations and various interventions. These encompass major and advanced surgeries as well as specialised procedures. Additionally, approximately 210,000 dialysis sessions have been conducted for clients of the centre’s services.

gy, featuring 108 dialysis machines and three operating rooms with capsule systems endorsed by leading medical institutions. It serves as a specialised facility for treating kidney and urinary tract diseases, offering therapies for acute and chronic kidney failure, kidney stones, kidney infections, and dialysis. A team of consultant doctors and specialists ensures high-quality healthcare for patients, with the dialysis unit’s setup costing 30 million Egyptian pounds.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, head of the General Authority for Healthcare and supervisor of the comprehensive health insurance project, highlighted the 30th June Centre as a model for exceptional healthcare in regions implementing the comprehensive health insurance system. It is the first specialised centre in the Canal Region under the authority to obtain national accreditation for international standards, recognised by the global ISQua organisation. Dr. Al-Sabki affirmed that the centre’s kidney transplant licence boosts client confidence in its servic
es and underscores the authority’s dedication to maintaining high global quality standards.
He commended the skill and efficiency of the multidisciplinary medical team involved in the kidney transplant programme, noting their success in conducting transplants at rates comparable to global standards. This achievement reflects the centre’s commitment to providing advanced healthcare services on par with major international institutions.
