Cairo: The Health and Population Ministry has announced the deployment of 25 medical convoys to 21 governorates across the country on the first day of Eidul Fitr. These convoys will provide free medical services to citizens, ensuring a safe and healthy celebration of the holiday.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the medical convoys will offer free examinations, emergency services, and treatments. The operating hours for these services are scheduled from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Dr. Abdel Ghaffar highlighted that the convoys will cover a range of medical specialties, including internal medicine, pediatrics, ENT, orthopedics, surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, cardiology, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology, and family planning services. Additionally, radiology and medical laboratory services will be available, with referrals for surgical cases directed to hospitals affiliated with the mini
stry.
Dr. Peter Wagih, Head of the Therapeutic Medicine Sector, stated that medical convoys will be stationed in prominent locations such as Misr Station and Al-Azhar Park in Cairo, Giza Train Station and Zed Park in Giza, and Misr Station and San Stefano in Alexandria. Other sites include the Nile Corniche in Aswan, Al-Bahr Street in Gharbia, and the Nile Corniche Tourist Promenade in Beni Suef.
Dr. Mohamed Ghobashi, Director General of the General Administration of Medical Convoys, mentioned that a comprehensive convoy will be set up in Qanater Al-Khayriyah in Qalyubia, the Popular Square in Quesna in Menoufia, and the Clock Square in Damietta, among other locations. Additional convoys will be available in areas such as the Nile Corniche in Luxor, the Stadium Roundabout in Damanhour, and the Sea Club in Qena.
Dr. Ghobashi further noted that medical convoys will be positioned around Al-Taamir Club, the Police Club in the New Valley, and near the General Diwans of Matrouh and Dakahlia. Additional sites inc
lude the Ring Road near Doha Mosque in Ismailia, Carrefour Hurghada in the Red Sea, and the sports stadium in Nasser City in Sohag.
