The Ministry of Health and Population announced on Wednesday15/2/2023 the start of pilot operations of 21 health facilities as part of the first phase of a presidential initiative to ramp out health services nationwide.
Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said all drives came as part of efforts meant to maximize benefitting of more than 80 million citizens from primary care services essential to develop an efficient and equitable national healthcare system, with a view to providing best-in-class quality performance.
According to the spokesman, the initiative has three pivots including the activation of specialist clinics for outpatients, emergency units 24/7, as well as doctor’s home visit service.
The 21 primary healthcare facilities that went operational cover the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Qalyubia, Mersa Matrouh , Kafr el-Sheikh, Dakahlia, Menoufia, Sharqia, Beheira, Fayyoum, Qena, Assiut, Beni Suef, Damietta, South Sinai, North Sinai, the Red Sea and El Wadi El Gadid.
