Cairo: The Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Dr Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, along with the Chairman of the National Press Authority (NPA), Engineer Abdel-Sadek El-Shorbagy, discussed strategies to offer high-quality medical services to employees of national press institutions.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, stated that the meeting focused on reviewing healthcare schemes available to thousands of press institution employees. Dr Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar expressed appreciation for the critical role that press institutions’ employees play in spreading public awareness and knowledge on contemporary community issues.
The deputy prime minister reiterated his commitment to enhancing cooperation with the NPA, especially in providing quality medical services that include examinations, treatment, and vaccinations. He highlighted the necessity of updating employee databases to ensure comprehensive ac
cess to the ministry’s health programmes for all press institution workers.
Moreover, Dr Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar instructed the expansion of the Ministry’s ‘100 Million Health’ public health initiatives to include press institutions, aiming to deploy mobile medical convoys for regular health screenings. Engineer Abdel-Sadek El-Shorbagy expressed gratitude for the Health Ministry’s support in advancing healthcare schemes for national press employees.
El-Shorbagy noted that an agreement was reached during the meeting to broaden medical services for press workers, emphasizing the state’s commitment to providing top-quality, non-discriminatory medical care to all national press employees. He reinforced the National Press Authority’s dedication to the health and well-being of its workforce through close coordination with the Ministry of Health.
