Health minister follows up presidential directives to improve healthcare services offered to citizens

Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar asserted that work will be intensified in all sectors affiliated with the ministry to follow up the directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to improve the healthcare services offered to citizens.

The minister’s remarks were made during his weekly meeting with ministry officials and heads of healthcare authorities via video conference to follow up the various health sectors and remove any hardships facing the healthcare system.

Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghafar said the minister ordered accelerating work to upgrade the National Heart Institute in parallel with setting up a new heart institute with global criteria to meet needs and aspirations of citizens in accordance with directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The minister said the new institute will be held in El Shorouk City on an area of 81,480 with a capacity of 500 beds.

He ordered speeding up measures to end construction works at the new heart institute and providing with all special equipment along with qualified medical teams.

The meeting also covered other files such as the upgrade of the Coptic Hospital, Heliopolis Hospital and Umm El Masriyeen Hospital along with the health care clinics in the various governorates.
