Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar conferred with Saudi Health Minister Fahd bin Abdurrahman al Jalajel and Kuwaiti Health Minister Ahmed el Awady on means to boost cooperation in the health sector. This came during Abdel Ghaffar’s separate meeting with both ministers on the sidelines of the 4th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) hosted in Saudi Arabia.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions focused on exchanging expertise and visions between the countries to contribute to implementing strategies that align with each nation’s vision to improve their respective health systems. The Egyptian and Saudi ministers explored opportunities for expanding investments in the health sector, particularly in areas such as digital transformation of health services, comprehensive health insurance, and patient safety.
Further, the meeting highlighted potential Egyptian-Saudi cooperation in localizing pharma
ceutical industries and vital cosmetics. Both ministers underscored the significance of sharing successful health experiences by organizing groups comprising cadres from both countries, aiming to exchange expertise for maximum joint benefit.
In the meeting with the Kuwaiti Health Minister, discussions revolved around exchanging expertise in various health domains, particularly in combating diseases. Cooperation opportunities in training doctors across different specializations were also explored. Additionally, the ministers discussed the exchange of expertise in media, health culture, information, and the dissemination of health pamphlets.
