Cairo: Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, announced that the total services delivered by the “Bedaya – A New Beginning for Human Development” initiative has reached 86,268,616 services since its launch.
According to State Information Service Egypt, over the past four days alone, the initiative has provided 7,930,172 services. These include empowering and training 32,954 women through 161 services and activities, the distribution of 10.5 tons of meat to 10,250 families, 52 comprehensive community convoys benefiting 33,973 citizens, and 87 educational, scientific, and awareness seminars attended by 1,740 participants.
During this period, the initiative delivered 687,997 services in youth and sports activities, established 52 literacy classes benefiting 342 citizens, and organized examination convoys for literacy certificates for 45 citizens across different governorates. Additionally, awareness campaigns focusing on the importance of a
child’s first 1,000 days reached 249,226 citizens through social outreach leaders.
The initiative provided various social assistance including education, grants, marriage, and compensation to 9,667 citizens, distributed food boxes and hot meals to 4,270 families, issued 6,228 disability ID and integrated services cards, and delivered rehabilitation services through specialized care centers to 3,601 citizens with disabilities. It also distributed “Takaful and Karama” cash support cards to 40,949 beneficiaries, while 10,199 women benefited from the “Rural Women Training Project”.
Bedaya initiative also conducted door-to-door campaigns to raise awareness about the dangers of addiction, reaching 5,132 young men and women. Health services were provided to 6,480,043 citizens through 48 medical convoys, including therapeutic, preventive, and family planning services, as well as home visits, prenatal check-ups, and child growth monitoring.
Furthermore, the initiative organized 558 diverse cultural events, includin
g seminars, lectures, workshops, and theatrical performances, benefiting approximately 75,556 citizens. It financed 818 medium, small, and micro-projects for youth and underprivileged families and conducted financial inclusion seminars for 2,151 beneficiaries. Four additional workshops provided youth with essential digital and foundational skills needed for success in the evolving digital job market, benefiting 281 participants.
The initiative also delivered 103,340 veterinary services, including deworming, spraying, vaccination campaigns, reproductive care, poultry treatments, public health services, and informational seminars.
Under the “Mawada” national program, the initiative continued to provide pre-marital training activities, benefiting 2,381 trainees. Documentation and certification services were also intensified, with 4,672 services provided through mobile units during evening shifts across different governorates. Additionally, the initiative organized 19 events promoting occupational safety and he
alth, first aid, and worker rights and responsibilities under Egyptian labor law, as well as topics on women’s economic empowerment, labor relations and disputes, and human trafficking. These sessions reached 656 public sector employees, and professional training sessions in various trades and the English language were delivered to 282 trainees across various governorates.
