Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, announced that the Presidential Initiative “Bedaya – A New Beginning for Human Development” has provided 71,475,812 services since its launch.
Over the past four days, the initiative delivered 8,776,993 services. Among these, 36,049 beneficiaries, particularly women, accessed services related to empowerment and training through 231 specialized activities. Additionally, 5.5 tons of meat and food staples were distributed to 5,507 families. The initiative also launched 53 community outreach convoys, benefiting 56,839 citizens, and organized 77 educational and awareness sessions for various groups, with a total participation of 1,925 people.
Within the same four-day period, the initiative extended 195,740 services in youth and sports activities across 36 events. These included guided tours and awareness programs such as lectures and artistic activities on museums and historical sites, increasing archaeologic
al awareness among 3,545 citizens. Campaigns were conducted to raise awareness about the “First 1,000 Days of Life,” benefiting 441,661 people through women’s social advocates.
“Bedaya” also provided social, educational, grant-based, marriage, and compensation-related assistance to 66,957 citizens. It distributed food boxes and hot meals to 490 families in need and issued 1,785 disability verification cards and comprehensive service cards. Rehabilitation services were also offered to 6,661 individuals through institutions supporting people with disabilities. In addition, 64,034 citizens received “Takafol and Karama” social support cards, while 35,031 women benefited from the “Rural Women Training Project”.
Door-to-door awareness campaigns targeting 24,113 young men and women were carried out to educate them on the dangers of addiction. Additionally, health services reached 7,159,000 citizens, including preventive and therapeutic care, family planning, home visits, pregnancy follow-ups, and child development
monitoring, with 45 medical convoys providing these services.
Cultural activities were also prominent, with 995 diverse cultural events including seminars, lectures, workshops, and theatrical performances, benefitting nearly 150,657 individuals. Literacy efforts continued with 37 literacy classes benefiting 525 individuals, and examination convoys issuing literacy certificates for 86 individuals across various governorates. Furthermore, the initiative financed 4,425 small and micro-enterprises for youth and vulnerable families and organized financial inclusion seminars reaching 5,040 beneficiaries through women’s social advocates.
The initiative also held 100 workshops aimed at equipping young people with essential digital skills for succeeding in an evolving digital job market. Environmental awareness campaigns on waste recycling, women’s economic empowerment, and pre-marriage counseling benefited 4,071 participants. Additionally, 321,583 veterinary services were provided, encompassing deworming, vaccinati
on campaigns, reproductive care, poultry treatment, general health services, and educational seminars. Water conservation awareness programs reached 508 students through 23 interactive workshops.
“Bedaya” initiative also offered training activities as part of the national “Mawada” program for couples preparing for marriage, benefiting 3,635 individuals. Documentation and certification services were expanded in mobile units to cover evening hours, delivering 5,416 services across various governorates. Furthermore, 21 events were held to promote occupational safety, health, and first-aid awareness, along with sessions on labor rights and responsibilities under Egyptian labor law, reaching 1,079 employees in the public sector. Vocational and English language training courses were also provided to 265 trainees across multiple governorates. Employment opportunities were arranged for 283 residents of South Sinai to work in the tourism sector in Sharm El Sheikh.
