Minya: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has highlighted the Adwa Central Hospital in Minya as a significant advancement in health facilities. Abdel Ghaffar noted that the hospital’s renovation commenced in 2017 and concluded in 2024, emphasizing ongoing efforts to enhance the health system across Egyptian governorates in alignment with sustainable development goals and ‘Egypt Vision 2030’. This statement was made during his inspection of the hospital on Saturday, March 29, 2025, in the presence of Minya Governor Emad Kidwany.
According to State Information Service Egypt, this visit is part of a broader series of field tours aimed at monitoring the progress within the health system and assessing the quality and efficiency of medical services provided to citizens. The tours also aim to identify any challenges facing the health system. Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar reported that the minister began his tour by evaluating several departments within the hospital, including the emergency and reception areas, the X-ray unit, the laboratory, the dialysis unit, and the dentistry department.
Furthermore, the minister reviewed the intensive care unit and baby incubators to assess patient health conditions and ensure the availability of necessary equipment and resources. The spokesman disclosed that the hospital began operations post-renovation in January 2025, with a total investment of EGP 734 million. This initiative is part of the ministry’s strategy to enhance the efficiency of health facilities. The hospital is equipped with 138 beds, 25 dialysis machines, and 30 incubators, according to the spokesman.
