Health min., chairman of Wady el Nile Company discuss supplying new ambulances plan

Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed in a meeting with Board Chairman of Wady el Nile Company Hany Dahy the rates of implementing a plan for supply and maintenance of ambulances in addition to following up the flow of work in the Egyptian ambulance system and facilitating the hindrances and challenges facing the health sector.

Abdel Ghaffar lauded the efforts of the officials of the company, pointing out to the cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the company over the past 14 years in providing and equipping ambulances and moving clinics with the best prices and highest quality.

Abdel Ghaffar also thanked the Egyptian Ambulance Authority for its efforts in providing a quick response and transferring patients to get the medical service, asserting that the authority has cadres trained on the latest ambulance means.

The minister was apprised of the plan to supply the ministry with 1000 new ambulances and movable clinics that are equipped with the latest medical equipment, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said, adding that 545 new ambulances were received and listed in the ambulance system.

The meeting tackled cooperation in the periodically maintaining the ambulances whether new or old, the spokesman said, asserting the important role of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority.

The minister gave directives for cooperation and coordination between the ministry, Wady el Nile Company, Unified Purchase Authority and other concerned bodies to discuss challenges and needs of the system to guarantee providing ambulances services to the Egyptians, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Dahy asserted his keenness on cooperation with the ministry and providing all kinds of necessary support and equipment to guarantee the sustainability of the Egyptian ambulance system.
